These easy baked pork fašírky are ready in just 40 minutes and deliver a perfectly crispy crust without the mess of deep frying. Infused with garlic, marjoram, and caraway, these traditional Slovak meat patties pair beautifully with mashed potatoes or a crisp side salad.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, soak the torn stale bread roll in the milk for about 5 minutes until soft, then squeeze out and discard the excess moisture.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, soaked bread, egg, minced garlic, dried marjoram, ground caraway, salt, and black pepper.
Mix the ingredients thoroughly with your hands until the mixture is fully combined and slightly sticky.
Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions, shape each into a ball, and gently flatten them into patties that are about 3/4-inch thick.
Place the dry breadcrumbs in a shallow dish and dredge each patty in the crumbs, coating all sides evenly for a crispy crust.
Arrange the coated patties on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle or spray them lightly with vegetable oil.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, turning halfway through, until the patties are golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
Serve the hot fašírky immediately with a side of creamy mashed potatoes and tangy pickles.
